President Scholarship for International Students 2022 is inviting credible applicants who are willing to partake in its ongoing 2022 Scholarship programme at Chongqing University
Chongqing University (CQU) is a research university that is directly funded by the central government of China. Chongqing University was established in the year 1929.
It is also one of the “211 Project” and “985 Project” universities with full support in construction and development from the central government and Chongqing Municipal Government.

Requirements for Chongqing University University Scholarship Qualification
1. Non-Chinese citizen with valid passport.
Note: Applicants who emigrated to other countries from the Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan and obtain foreign nationality, and applicants who has acquired foreignnationality automatically at the time of birth in a foreign country, whose parent(s) is (are) Chinese citizen(s), should meet the requirements of the regulations set in the Document No. 12 (2020) of Ministry of Education of the PRC (Click to check).
2. In good physical and mental health; in excellent academic standing and with good conduct; abide by the laws and decrees of China and comply with rules and regulations of Chongqing University.
3. Self-supported applicants should be above 18 years old and under 30 years old; scholarship applicants should be above 18 years old and under 25 years old.
4. High school graduated or above, meeting the academic requirements of the applied program.
5. Chinese language proficiency: HSK 4 (≥210) or equivalent.
6. Not be recipients of any other scholarships at the same time.
Documents Required for Application
- Personal information page of passport. The passport shall have a minimum validity of one year. For applicants who are already in China, a photocopy of Visa or Residence Permit with entry customs stamps should be provided as well.
- Notarized high school diploma. Applicants who have already graduated from high school shall submit graduation certificate of high school. Prospective diploma recipients shall submit a pre-graduation certificate issued by the high school, and bring the official degree diploma for registration if admitted.
- High school official transcripts.
- Proof of Chinese language proficiency.Score report of HSK level 4 (≥210) within the validity or other Chinese language proficiency proof.
- Physical examination form (Click to download). The form shall be filled by the physician in Chinese or English. The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Attachments of examination results (Blood report, Electrocardiograph and Chest X-ray) shall also be uploaded. Please carefully plan your physical examination schedule as the result is valid for only 6 months.
- Certificate of Non-criminal record. Applicants who are currently studying or working in an institution could submit a Certificate of Good Conduct issued by the institution as a replacement.
- Financial statement or bank statement. The available balance should be no less than 30, 000 RMB (The minimum amount of financial proof for full scholarship applicants may be appropriately lowered).
- A Personal Statement. No less than 500 words, stating your basic personal information, hobbies and expertise, motivation, study plan, etc.
- Study or Work certificate. For applicants who are currently studying or working in an institution, a Certificate of Enrollment or Employment issued by the institution is required.
- For Arts programs, applicants must have a related academic background and are required to submit a portfolio (such as paintings, story scripts, short movies, etc.).
- Other supporting materials are required by the specific program.
