Former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has sent a letter to the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, praising him over his re-appointment. Obasanjo Responds To Ghana President
In a letter dated December 10, 2020, Obasanjo stated, “Let me rush to praise you, the public authority, and the individuals of Ghana on the effective lead of the Ghanaian general decisions hung on the 7 December 2020.”
The former President said Akufo-Addo’s reelection is a testimony of his performance in office.
He expressed optimism that the president-elect will remain as enthusiastic, as energetic, as focused, and as committed as he has been in the last four years in serving the people of Ghana and the rest of Africa.
While praying that God will grant him more success in his second term, Obasanjo appealed to the Ghanaian President to “be magnanimous in victory, unite the nation, and bring all hands on deck for the growth, development and progress of Ghana.”
On the deadly coronavirus pandemic, Obasanjo encouraged Akufo-Addo to take leadership and explore all available to secure safe, effective, available, and affordable COVID-19 vaccines for all Ghanaians and their African brothers and sisters.
“However, in doing as such, I ask you not to dismiss your assurance to have a “Ghana past guide,” Obasanjo said.
