Entrance Scholarship for African Students 2022 is inviting credible applicants who are willing to partake in its ongoing 2022 Scholarship programme at the University of Ottawa
The University of Ottawa, popularly known as uOttawa or U of O, is one of the top 10 research-intensive universities in Canada. It was founded 174 years ago on the 6 September 1848 as the College of Bytown by the first Roman Catholic bishop of Ottawa, Joseph-Bruno.
The main campus of the globally recognized and acclaimed institution is located in Ottawa’s Downtown Core, adjacent to the residential neighborhood of Sandy Hill, adjacent to Ottawa’s Rideau Canal.
Over the year, the institution has led research breakthroughs in science, social sciences, health sciences, and the humanities and thus attracted global attention.
Requirements for Entrance Scholarship Qualification
If you’re applying from a secondary school, you must meet the following conditions to be considered for admission to an undergraduate program:
- Have obtained, or be in the process of obtaining, your West African Examinations Council Senior School Certificate (WAEC) or West African Senior School Certificate of Education (WASSCE).
- Have a minimum average of 75% (requirements may be higher depending on the program you select).
- Have completed, or be in the process of completing, the prerequisites (scroll to “Prepare to apply”) for the program you select. Unless otherwise indicated, you must complete all prerequisites at the secondary school senior level.
Space is limited. Admission is competitive and not guaranteed. We reserve the right to deny admission even if you meet all requirements.

If you have started or completed postsecondary studies and meet the following conditions, you can be considered for admission to an undergraduate program. You must:
- Have a minimum average of 70% (requirements may be higher depending on the program you select).
- Have completed, or be in the process of completing, the prerequisites (scroll to “Prepare to apply”) required for the program you select. Unless otherwise indicated, you must complete all prerequisites at the secondary school senior or the postsecondary level.

Documents Required for Application
If you’re currently studying for your West African Examinations Council Senior School Certificate (WAEC) or West African Senior School Certificate of Education (WASSCE), submit the following documents through our uoZone portal:
- Transcript of the past three years of secondary studies
- Transcript of results from the first term of your final year
If you’ve already graduated, submit the following documents through uoZone:
- Your WAEC or WASSCE results
- Proof of diploma
If you’re applying with your postsecondary education started or completed, submit the following documents through our uoZone portal:
- All postsecondary transcripts
- Your WAEC or WASSCE results
- Proof of diploma
